Ask me!

Hi I'm Jenny. I want to turn this blog into a journal of my life that I can reflect on when I turn ancient. Please take a gander and follow me if your heart so desires.

It’s been a while!

Tumblrrr has been at the very bottom of my priority list for a very long time! But it shall not be for long! So many things have happened since the last time I had logged in. School has been crazy. I’ve been studying non-stop for the whole term! (Had midterms every single week since the term had started.) But all the while, I’ve still been thinking about medical school and all the things I need to do accomplish before I apply (next year!)

I had joined a sorority, Sigma Delta Omega, this year and it has been great! All the girls are amazing and super smart, so it will definitely be an asset to me :) I started volunteering at the Boys and Girls club recently and its been a blast! I work with kindergardeners and make sure they don’t get in trouble. They are definitely the messiest little people I have ever met. And this little boy named Oliver has a crush on me. Hoooow cute!

AND the Teo-Chew Association is hopefully starting up soon! I’m so excited to start this club! Presidentooo :)

I am also applying for internships during the summer to improve my resume/research abilities. It will be fun working in a lab for a couple months! Hopefully, I will get it! OHHH. I will also be a resident assistant next year in Sackett! Free housing and free food for me!

There are so many things I still have to do and I have such little time. I think I need a personal assistant. Yeah. That would be very nice :)

HOPEFULLY, I will be able to update this more often.

Day 3:
This is my current reading project: The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand, a renowned philosopher and writer. I had read her other book, Atlas Shrugged, while I was in Vietnam and it was absolutely amazing. She captured the essence of her art and beautifully brought it all to life in her books. Her writing made me contemplating on my life and what exactly I want to accomplish. It gave me motivation to push forward and to become a better person. I am really excited to be reading this book!

I had randomly stumbled upon this site and let’s just say I can’t stop reading it. The stories are hilarious and the pictures add to the effect even more. It’s a must read!

Day 1: I went blackberry picking for the first time in my life today. I rode my bike from my place to the farm where I picked the blackberries with my health nut of a friend. And as you can tell, I was extremely sweaty but it was just so relaxing to escape the town/city for a while and to observe the scenery as we biked. My experience was full of little thorns cutting me up and encountering gigantic spiders. But I do say it was all worth it. The satisfaction of picking free blackberries and making a smoothie out of it was absolutely wonderful. Our next stop: Farmer’s market :D

Day 2:

Today, I went to work in a fish disease research lab. In this particular day, I have been given the task of double-checking and organizing fish samples from 2005-2009. They were stored in a - 80 degree freezer hence the lovely gloves I am wearing. I have been working here for the last 9 months and it’s been pretty good. I have seen a good amount of fish guts and polychaete worms and have worked with close to a thousand samples/ tubes. The lab is mostly made up of Graduate and PhD students. The people I have met are just wonderful; they are charismatic and passionate about what they do. I want to become like that one day :)

Project 365

So, I have decided to take a picture of myself or something of relevance to me for 365 days. I really want to see how my life progresses as the year goes by and see what changes occur. This should be interesting :)
